Long Reach Excavator Services
Excavation requires heavy machinery, precision, and good control to ensure the earth is moved properly without causing any damage to surrounding areas. Most excavation machines are designed to handle all kinds of terrain and landscapes, but sometimes they can’t access the site. We at BDI Marine Contractors, provide long-reach excavators that can handle difficult to access sites easily. We have two long-range machines that can be used in different kinds of terrains.
Our company has worked on several excavation projects in Stuart, Port St Lucie, Palm City, Rocky Point, Willoughby Creek, Manatee Pocket, and Hutchinson Island. These machines have helped during several excavations at Tequesta, Hobe Sound, Fort Pierce, Jupiter Island, Port Salerno, Jensen Beach, and Sewall’s Point as well.
What Are Long Reach Excavators?
Regular excavators have a limited reach so they need to be quite close to the dig site to carry out safe grading. Unfortunately, not all sites are so easy to navigate, which is where our extreme, long reach machines come in. They can cut slopes, place material, excavate, and perform similar tasks across extreme distances because they have a larger reach than regular machines. Here’s a brief look at their capabilities:
- Great Boom Length –Long-reach excavators have great boom lengths and some are capable of reaching distances of nearly 95 feet, which allows operators to move ground from areas that were previously inaccessible.
- Load Bearing Capacity –Many long-reach machines sacrifice load-bearing capabilities for reach, which can hamper productivity. Our machines have a 6ft wide bucket that can hold around 2 cubic yards worth of material. That means you can excavate a large amount of land quickly.
- Operating without Visual Guidance –Sometimes operators can’t see the land they’re excavating. They might be at the top of a ditch, digging 30 to 40 feet under water, or working on similar projects. Without clear and direct visual guidance, it’s not easy to see to dig where you need to. Our long-range excavating machines use a GPS navigation system to offer accurate guidance to operators.
- Dredging –These excavators can be used in dredging and sloping projects as well. Specialized heads are attached to the boom so we perform precise slopping or dredging in areas that weren’t very accessible before.
You can rent excavator services for your project and ensure everything goes smoothly instead of struggling to find ways to reach difficult-to-access areas on your project site.
